SPENDING TIME FOR REVIEW

SPENDING TIME FOR REVIEW

The first, and probably most obvious reason, is to help students retain information andskills that they have learned. “Review helps children synthesize what they’ve learned and helps them to identify what they haven’t learned”. Cumulative review helps students practice going back to everything that they have learned and recall an old skill that they have previously acquired to solve the problem, “retrieval practice.” Review also allows students to determine what they remember and what they do not remember and properly go over the material that they have forgotten, a strategy that helps students in studying, especially when it comes to reviewing for a test and determining what concept or strategy they need to go back to and relearn or review.
